AND THE GREAT RESET

Every Christian’s life has pivotal moments: whether to marry A or B, whether to take a job in this or that, when to start a family, even whether to move to another city and times arise that require 180-degree change.

THE MOMENT

Similarly, there are
pivotal moments
in the lives of nations.

The American colonies had to decide in 1776 whether to remain loyal to their mother country, Great Britain, or to declare independence and fight a war to gain independence. In 1787, after becoming independent, the United States faced a momentous question of how it would govern itself.

One of the most prominent founders, Benjamin Franklin, was famously asked by a Philadelphia lady, at the end of the Constitutional Convention in 1787, what kind of system Americans would be living under. He famously replied,

“A republic, madam, if you can keep it.”

In a way, every US presidential election since then has had the implied question, can we keep the constitutional republic we brought into existence and survive this test?

In 1860, for example, the election of Abraham Lincoln, a known opponent of slavery, led to the secession of 11 states from the union and a brutal war that led to the deaths of some 700,000 Americans on both sides. Even before the war ended, President Lincoln had freed the slaves, but the legacy of slavery and a racial divide in America has remained with Americans ever since. The election of 1860 was pivotal because it was won by Abraham Lincoln and the Republicans, and it led directly to the Secession of 11 of the southern states, and a brutal Civil War.

Something else was recently pivotal in my life as GODSPEED Magazine's editor in chief. Despite having lived in and reported from more than 50 countries during five decades as a reporter and author, I had never come across another David Aikman. The last name is Scottish. Scots who emigrated to English-speaking countries must certainly have included a few Aikmans. It’s just that I hadn’t heard of any. Then, thanks to the internet, I came across a David Aikman living at the time in southern England. I did some research and discovered that this David Aikman was a senior executive of a private organization called the World Economic Forum.

This organization was founded in 1971 to help senior executives and national government figures to keep in touch with each other. WEF was instrumental in initiating the annual, invitation-only Davos forum in January in the Swiss Alps. Recent international leaders invited to Davos have included China’s Communist Party leader Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump. Whether or not the WEF describes itself as globalist, in practical terms, it surely is. Aside from the annual conferences in Davos to which it invites an elite of top corporate executives from all over the world, in June 2020 the WEF publicly introduced a whole new global plan which it’s calling “The Great Reset.“

THE SCHEME? MASK SOCIALISM

The context was the global medical and economic disruption caused by the Coronavirus. The Great Reset calls for a massive scheme to disrupt global capitalism and replace it with capitalism favorable to a social justice agenda. This was a massive plan to reset global capitalism and replace it with a new kind of capitalism tailored to the goals of various social justice warriors. For example, The Green New Deal (GND) of Congress member Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez and aspects of The Paris Climate Accord (agreed to by the US under President Obama, but repudiated by President Trump) would be incorporated in The Great Reset.

Corporations that publicly tried to implement the objectives of The Great Reset would be rewarded by major international contracts designated by the leaders in charge of this entire reset program.

Many people have described this whole project as a plan to introduce global socialism in a way that makes the new economic proposals less threatening than if they were called outright socialist.

At the June 2020 meeting prominent international figures like UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the British Heir to the throne Prince Charles each made favorable on-camera comments about The Great Reset. Given previous support for world governance by Prince Charles, at GODSPEED Magazine, we are

skeptical about The Great Reset, especially considering the decision of the WEF to promote the program in a major way at the Lucerne, Switzerland meeting in January 2021, I am certainly not that David Aikman, the WEF representative to Communist China. I am a follower of Jesus who totally rejects utopian projects to alter the character of the human race by disrupting programs that have worked effectively for 233 years, namely the constitutional republic of the US.
