EPICPAYCANCELING THE 'CANCEL CULTURE'BY TROY ANDERSONEpicPay Co-Founder &
CEO Marco Leardini
How a business
that started with only $2,000
and a vision of putting The Lord first in its finances
became an award-winning company
competing with PayPal and Stripe,
offering an alternative payment solution
amid the ‘cancel culture’
BIRTHED IN FAITHMarco Leardini, the CEO and co-founder of EpicPay, started out his business two decades ago with $2,000, a laptop computer, a “rickety IKEA desk” and a plan to put God first in their finances –seeing how much money they could give away instead of how much money they could make.

“I had learned enough in Bible college to realize that you put God first in your finances because it all belongs to him and we’re just stewards,” Leardini told GODSPEED Magazine. “So, we started with the initial goal of not how much in sales or revenues we could generate, but how much we could give away.

"We wanted to be able to produce enough revenues to give away seven figures in tithes and offerings within a four-year period. And so, along with a lot of hard work, diligence, and prayer, now, 20 years later, we’ve been six times ‘America’s Fastest-Growing Private Company’ and on the Fortune Inc. 5000 Honor Roll. We’re at a point now where we are a payment facilitator, like PayPal or Stripe, and actually, compete with them.”
A GODLY ALTERNATIVE TO
THE
‘CANCEL CULTURE’
At a time when the “cancel culture” is censoring believers and pressuring retailers to delist the products of outspoken Christians like Mike Lindell, founder, and CEO of MyPillow, Leardini says his company provides an alternative technology platform and “payment solution” for Christians and conservatives or anyone who believes in freedom and liberty.

While companies like PayPal and Stripe support organizations “not in line with our values and not in line with the values of a lot of our clients,"
Leardini says EpicPay and its clients, such as MyPillow, PureFlix, The Return, Dr. Lance Wallnau, and many churches and ministries are creating a “Kingdom payment ecosystem” that advances “Kingdom initiatives.”

“And it’s really a testament to the Lord because we did it with a very small development team that was between four to eight people and ended up beating the Goliath’s that have 400 to 800 developers on their teams,” Leardini says. “Our proprietary payment gateway has been the most awarded over the past two years and won ‘2020 Best of Breed Gateway API’ beating the industry’s top players, like Stripe, Authorize.net, Shopify, and others.”
What Do Believers Support When They Buy from Companies That Fund Planned Parenthood?Since its founding two decades ago, the company has gone from handling no volume to $2 billion in monthly transactions, a feat Leardini attributes to the power of the Holy Spirit, despite a bevy of “crazy lawsuits and crazy situations.”

“It’s been God in action since the very beginning of this,” he says. “I call it rocket fuel. We had favor along the way. God was definitely in action in supporting us through trials and tests and tribulations. When we thought the ship was sinking we said, ‘You know, if we’re going to go down, we’re going down tithing.’ God always kept us under his wings.”

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE ‘ROCKET FUEL’ behind EpicPayLeardini attributes, in part, the divine favor the company has experienced to an intercessory prayer team that has fought the behind-the-scenes spiritual battles, seeking The Lord’s intervention to achieve victory.

“When you’re out there doing things for God, and you’re trying to fulfill that original mandate of dispossessing the darkness and reestablishing
the Kingdom, you’re in a war, you’re in a battle trying to take back and bring your sphere of influence to a place where it’s reflecting righteousness, peace, and joy, which is the Kingdom of God.”

MyPillow’s Cultural Warrior
MIKE LINDELL
For most of its two-decade history, Lindell has not only been a client of EpicPay but a “real blessing for us as well,” Leardini says.

In recent months, several large companies have pulled his products from their shelves as he’s spoken out about the 2020 presidential election.

"Mike has been outspoken for President Trump and he’s come under fire quite a bit, unfortunately,” he says. “But the more Mike has been attacked the more business he gets – you know, what the enemy means for evil, God works for good.

“He’s got such a big heart and he’s a very generous man with his Lindell Recovery Network and Lindell Foundation and other things. People don’t know how generous he is, but he’s just incredible and God honors that with Mike.”
ADVICE FOR
ENTREPRENEURS
IN CHRIST
Given his experiences and knowledge of Scripture, Leardini says he believes God has given everyone different gifts, talents, and desires, and as we begin to humbly submit to The Lord’s calling and purpose for our lives, the Holy Spirit reveals how to
“covenant” with God.

“While God does want you to prosper, it’s not about getting blessed; it’s about being a blessing. And when you focus on being a blessing, God is going to bless you. For whom much is given, much is required. But if you’re faithful with a little, you will become ruler over much, or in some cases, you become rulers over cities.

“And that’s ultimately what we’re supposed to be doing, stewarding our spheres of influence so the place we’re at reflects the original design of that area where we’re living and operating in,” he says. “So, if you're going to go into business, it’s more than just having good ethics, providing good customer service, and supporting worthy causes; it’s really having a keen understanding that whatever you’re doing is...His will done on earth as it is in heaven.”

The Love of God

A true story of Godspeed Magazine's 8-year journey doing God's will. Between 2008 and 2012 my life was in shambles, I lost my stepdad, helplessly watched my business implode, underwent a painful divorce, and lost custody of my only son (at the time). The Lord called me into His will in 2012 when I was recovering from major surgery by saying there would be a movement centered around a digital publication He called GODSPEED Magazine (GSM).
