a plague on modern man
Stealing breath and life away
No culture immune,
the earth was spanned
Locked in homes we had to stay.

The simple things we took for granted
Church and school and work
The power of the people so easily supplanted
As the government started to usurp.
Values changed while false idols crumbled
As front line workers emerged
The arrogance of mankind now humbled
As death tolls globally surged.

The church of Christ was brought to task
The platform had raised too high
Families joined in prayer like in the books of Acts
As the grandeur of cathedrals died.
But in all this chaos God was not surprised
His heart ached for so much loss
It's often in the valley when we lift our eyes
We find our way back to the cross.

Vaccines may come and masks may leave
And political climates shift
Christ-followers stand firm in what they believe
Because God continues to sift.

Redemption is coming for the righteous checked
A healing wave of peace
God’s faithful to his children, so don't forget
This pandemic's time will cease.

We all have questions about what lies ahead
What does the future hold?
We must stay anchored in what the Bible says
Because this was all foretold.

This space in time is for lessons learned
We must value life again
We must repent for precious moments spurned
And live our lives for Him.

The Love of God

A true story of Godspeed Magazine's 8-year journey doing God's will. Between 2008 and 2012 my life was in shambles, I lost my stepdad, helplessly watched my business implode, underwent a painful divorce, and lost custody of my only son (at the time). The Lord called me into His will in 2012 when I was recovering from major surgery by saying there would be a movement centered around a digital publication He called GODSPEED Magazine (GSM).
